Well Everyone,
This week has been crazy. Our new "investigators" (who are really just our teachers) are....interesting. Sharon is a Christian....but not just any regular Christian, a Quaker. She has her beliefs, and she holds true to them. Both her and her husband are this way. However, during the second lesson with her, you could tell that because of the first lesson and what we were teaching her at that time that she knew it was true. She has had a change of heart and its been amazing teaching her the first two lessons. I cannot wait to teach the other two next week. She is reading the Book of Mormon, and hopefully we will get a baptism set up for her. It will be exciting. The other investigator we have is DeDe. She has been divorced twice and she currently lives with her parents. She has never been to church before. But wait there is more....She doesn't know ASL, English or how to read. It is fun to teach her. How do we do it? Well luckily she can understand our terrible drawing and pictures. Also we use a lot of gesturing. She is understanding the gospel and from what we can tell want to learn more. At least she says she wants us to meet with her again. During the first lesson we had with her, we didn't know she didn't know ASL or English...so we had our lesson all planned out....that was until we found out this truth. So our first lesson with her was rough, but the second one went well. As will the last two.Other than all the teaching and class time what went on? Well the comp. decided that he was going to have chest pains and a hard time breathing on Wednesday. So I spent the morning from after breakfast to lunch with him in the doctor. He had to get an x-ray because they couldn't see anything wrong without one. When the x-ray came back nothing was wrong. He was healthy as a horse. But the problem for this occurrence was stomach acid. He had to get pills and now he is doing wonderful.Other than that all I do is eat, go to class, eat, go to gym, go to class, eat, go to class, go to bed, wake up and repeat. The food is wonderful here and i feel like i have gained a few pounds over these two weeks, let's hope i don't continue with that. Hahahaha!!! But that's all for this week.Love, Elder Betts
